Museums in Alicante and Benidorm

Alicante is mostly cheap or free. Benidorm is where the spending starts.

Museums and places

Half a day in Alicante

That's enough for the main sights. Santa Bárbara Castle is free to enter, and the only cost is the lift, €2.70. Ride up and, if you feel like it, walk down.

The MARQ, the provincial archaeological museum, is the paid visit worth making: €5, or €3 on Sundays and public holidays. It closes on Mondays and, outside summer, opens Tuesday to Saturday 10:00–19:00. The MACA, for contemporary art, is free to enter and also closes on Mondays.

Benidorm's parks run on another calendar

The Benidorm parks cost far more and keep different seasons. In winter Terra Mítica, Aqualandia and Mundomar don't open to the general public, and Terra Natura opens only at weekends and on public holidays. Between November and March, stick to Alicante's museum and castle, and check which park is open on your date first.
