Museums in Barcelona
Gaudí first, because it sells out. Then art by area, with a pass if it saves money.

Most booked in Barcelona
Book Gaudí before anything else
Start with the places that have limited capacity: the Sagrada Família, which goes on sale about two months ahead, and Park Güell, bookable up to three months ahead. Once those two time slots are fixed, the rest of the trip falls into place around them.
Barcelona museums by area
- Passeig de Gràcia. Casa Batlló and Casa Milà (La Pedrera) are on the same avenue, a short walk apart. Both fit into one day, and you don't need more.
- Ciutat Vella and El Raval. The Picasso Museum, MACBA, CCCB, Palau Güell and the Palau de la Música.
- Montjuïc. MNAC, the Joan Miró Foundation and Montjuïc Castle, enough for a full day.
Watch out on Mondays: the Picasso Museum, MNAC and Palau Güell are closed. It's a good day for the Gaudí houses and the Sant Pau Art Nouveau Site.
Art museums in Barcelona: Articket, Barcelona Card or free hours
If you're seeing three art museums, Articket pays for itself. The Barcelona Card suits four or five days with a lot of public transport. Neither covers the Sagrada Família. Before you pay, look at the free museums: on Sunday afternoons about a dozen cost nothing.
With a spare day, you can reach Montserrat and the Colònia Güell by train from Plaça Espanya.
