Museums in Murcia

Three museums, and a summer calendar you'll want to check.

Three visits in the city

Museo Salzillo. It shows the floats carried in procession on Good Friday. Entry is €5 from age 13. From 16 September to 14 June it opens Monday to Saturday 10:00–17:00, and Sundays and public holidays 11:00–14:00. The guided tour, for groups of up to 15 people, costs €7 and must be booked in advance.

Cathedral. The museum alone costs €5, and the cathedral and museum together €8. The tower is guided only, at €8. Check the hours on its website before you go.

Museo de Bellas Artes. Free entry. It opens Tuesday to Friday 10:00–14:00 and 17:00–20:00, and closes on Mondays. It suits the afternoon, once the Salzillo has shut.

Shorter summer hours

From 15 June to 15 September, the Salzillo closes on Saturdays and Sundays, and its guided tour runs Monday to Friday at 12:00, booked in advance. The Museo de Bellas Artes cuts back too: 10:00–14:00 in July and August. On those dates, keep museums for weekday mornings.
