Most booked in Córdoba

Mezquita first, Medina Azahara after

Everything here revolves around the Mezquita. Decide first between the free hour, Monday to Saturday from 8:30 to 9:30, and paying €15 to go in without rushing. If you're staying overnight, you can do both.

That ticket also covers the Ruta de las Iglesias Fernandinas, a route of churches through the old town, so you see more without buying anything else.

Medina Azahara takes half a day outside the city, 8 km away. Entry is free for EU citizens, and the real cost is getting there without a car. It's closed on Mondays, so pick another day.

Where a guide earns the fee

A guide adds more here than in most cities. The Mezquita holds two places of worship in one building, and at Medina Azahara you have to imagine a lot. If you're only paying for one, make it the Mezquita.
