Book Portlligat first
The Casa Salvador Dalí at Portlligat sets the shape of your day. Entry needs a booking for a specific date and time, in small groups every 10 minutes. You must collect your ticket half an hour beforehand, and if you're late you lose your place with no refund. Lock in that slot, then fit Figueres or Púbol around it.
The Dalí Theatre-Museum in Figueres has a ticket office, but sales depend on capacity, so the museum recommends always booking. Allow between an hour and a half and two hours.
The Gala Dalí Castle at Púbol takes an hour and a quarter. It's the easiest to fit in, and booking is recommended, especially if you want a guided tour.
What the three sites cost
- Theatre-Museum: from €18.50, or €26.50 with a guided tour.
- Portlligat: €15.50 online and €17.50 at the ticket office. In July and August that rises to €18.50 and €20.50.
- Púbol: €10 online and €12 at the ticket office. In July and August, €12 and €14.
Reduced rates go to juniors aged 9 to 17, students over 18, retired people and Carné Joven youth card holders.
Winter closures to plan around
The Theatre-Museum closes on Mondays, except in July and August and on a few marked dates. The published calendar also shuts Portlligat from 7 January to 11 February and Púbol from 7 January to 27 February. Check your dates if you're travelling in those months.
Rules that can stop you at the door
You can't bring in backpacks, suitcases or anything over 35 × 35 × 25 cm. If you're touring the area, drop your luggage first. There are no changes or refunds for reasons outside the museum's control, and last entry is 45 minutes before closing.
Independent or a day trip from Barcelona
The Foundation's website is usually the cheapest choice if you're going on your own. Day trips from Barcelona solve the transport, which is the hard part without a car. There's also an official combined ticket with La Pedrera.
When Portlligat is full
Try another time or day: there's no entry without a booking. The Olivar, the olive grove, has its own €8 ticket on the house's official website. Or change plans and spend the day on Figueres and Púbol.
