Your name, your slot
The ticket is personal and non-transferable. Bring your original passport or ID, and enter your details exactly as they appear on it.
The time printed on it only applies to the Nasrid Palaces. Entry is 300 people every half hour, and if you miss your slot, you lose that area. The Alcazaba, Partal and Generalife can be seen during general opening hours, with a single entry to each.
You can't change the date or time, and refunds apply only in specific cases, such as when the Patronato, the body that runs the monument, is at fault for the visit not going ahead. Backpacks and bags over 40 × 40 cm aren't allowed in.
General, Gardens or night
- General (€22.27): Nasrid Palaces, Alcazaba, Partal and Generalife.
- Gardens (€12.73): all of that except the Palaces.
- Palaces at night (€12.73): the cheapest way to see them. Fridays and Saturdays only from 15 October to 31 March; Tuesday to Saturday the rest of the year.
When the Alhambra shows sold out
Go back to the official website. Part of the capacity is held for institutional programmes, and whatever goes unused returns to sale, which is why places reappear on dates that looked full. Try another ticket type too: night or Gardens.
If you need the full day, look at the Granada Card: Granada's tourist board says it has reserved tickets, and that some can remain when the rest have gone. The 48- and 72-hour cards include the general visit; the 24-hour card covers only the Palaces at night. It costs €50 to €60 and pays off if you'll use the other monuments too.
The ticket office is the last resort: the tourist board advises against it, because very few tickets are left.
Alhambra tickets on the official website come first
If the official website has your date, buy there: it's the official price, and the Patronato calls it the only guaranteed channel. Tiqets and GetYourGuide add a mark-up, so keep them for when places run out or you want a guide or audio guide. Before you pay, check the product includes the Palaces: on several they're optional, and some tours leave them out. Most Tiqets tickets can't be cancelled.
Free, no ticket needed
The Palace of Charles V and the Alhambra Museum are free to enter. Torres Bermejas and the Silla del Moro open free at weekends.
Frequently asked questions
How much are Alhambra tickets?
The general visit costs €22.27 on the official website: the €21 public price plus the sales commission. Gardens, Generalife and Alcazaba only, €12.73. The Nasrid Palaces at night, €12.73.
Can you visit the Alhambra for free?
Under-12s don't pay, but they need a ticket. Without a ticket you can see the Palace of Charles V and the Alhambra Museum. The Nasrid Palaces, Alcazaba and Generalife always require one.
Do I need ID for the Alhambra?
Yes. Tickets are in your name, and you must bring the original document you bought them with. Staff can ask for it during the visit.
Can you buy Alhambra tickets at the ticket office?
Only for the same day, subject to availability, and up to two hours before your Palaces visit. Don't count on it in high season.
What if I'm late for the Nasrid Palaces?
You lose access to that area. Entry is 300 people every half hour and only the slot printed on your ticket is valid. You can still visit the rest of the monument.
How long do you need at the Alhambra?
The Patronato, the body in charge of the monument, allows about three hours for the general visit. If your Palaces slot is early, save the Generalife for afterwards.
