One ticket covers the Theatre and Amphitheatre. The Roman Art museum is paid separately.
On 4 November 2026, the Consorcio's sales website warns that the Temple of Diana is temporarily closed. The Theatre and Amphitheatre don't appear to be affected.

€13 or €17: which one pays off
The €13 ticket covers the Theatre and Amphitheatre, on the same site. The Consorcio, which runs Mérida's Roman sites, charges €6 for each of the others, except the Temple of Diana at €3, so adding one of the €6 sites already brings you to €19. The joint ticket costs €17 and covers all of them.
It has another advantage: it's valid over one or several days. You can see the Theatre one day and leave the rest for the next. The €13 ticket only makes sense if you're sticking to the Theatre and Amphitheatre.
The reduced ticket applies only to citizens of the European Community. It covers ages 13 to 17, Carnet Joven holders, student card holders up to 25 and over-65s or retired people, among others.
No booking, but queues are possible
The Consorcio says booking isn't needed because there's no capacity limit. To avoid queues, it advises buying online or at a ticket office other than the one at the Theatre and Amphitheatre.
The museum is a separate ticket
The Museo Nacional de Arte Romano isn't part of the Consorcio ticket: it belongs to the Ministry of Culture and costs €3. It's free on Saturdays from 14:00 and on Sundays. Under-18s, over-65s, students aged 18 to 25 and Carnet Joven holders, among others, also get in free.
Its hours don't match the Theatre's. It opens Tuesday to Saturday 9:30–20:00, and Sundays and public holidays 10:00–15:00. It's shut every Monday, so on that day you only have the monuments.
What to look for in the Theatre
It opened between 16 and 15 BC, and Marcus Agrippa was behind its construction. For centuries only the top of the seating stayed in view: the seven blocks people called the Siete Sillas, or Seven Chairs.
Guide or audio guide
The Consorcio runs night-time guided tours of the Theatre and Amphitheatre. Tiqets sells a guided tour and a ticket with an in-app audio guide, both cancellable before the date. See whether entry is included before comparing with the €13 at the ticket office.
