With a car or without

If you have a car, the official ticket is the simplest choice: you book your date and can change or refund it until 18:00 the day before. Watch the price you see when you land on the website: the "from €24" is a single trip. A return for a non-resident adult is €43.

If you're not driving, take a tour with transport. On Tiqets, GetYourGuide and Headout, nearly everything is a day trip with the cable car included. Check that it is: one of the cheapest you'll see leaves it out.

The summit permit

The cable car stops at 3,555 metres. To stand on the 3,718-metre summit you need a free National Park permit, which you have to request well in advance. Without it, you stay at the viewpoints up top.

If you haven't got one, the operator's own ascent tours include it. In the afternoon, the sunset cable car experience goes up outside normal hours, with 90 people at most.

Altitude, footwear and parking

You'll be at 3,555 metres. The operator bars pregnant women, under-3s and people with cardiovascular conditions. Closed walking or sports shoes are compulsory. Bring water.

Your ticket gets you into the Ciencia y Leyenda exhibition at the base station. The car park is at 2,356 metres and until 31 December 2026 opens 8:00–18:00. Look up the latest information on the day for the state of the facilities and roads.
