Coming for Murillo: check Room 5

Room 5 holds Murillo's paintings for the Capuchin convent, among them the Virgen de la servilleta, according to the museum's leaflet. It closed on 15 October 2026 for preparatory work on the Juan de Mesa exhibition, announced for 17 November 2026 to 7 March 2027. The notice doesn't say where those paintings are in the meantime, so ask if they're your reason for coming. The leaflet also gives rooms of their own to Murillo and his followers (Room 7), Valdés Leal (Room 8) and Zurbarán (Room 10).

Backpacks and late arrivals

Backpacks and luggage can't exceed 20 x 30 x 10 cm; there are lockers for anything bigger. Late in the day the margin is small: from 45 minutes before closing only the last 25 tickets are sold, if capacity allows, and access to the rooms shuts 30 minutes before closing.

Guide or app

With entry this cheap, a guide is the only real cost. To go at your own pace, you can download the free EspaciosCultura@ app, with Bluetooth on. A tour from Tiqets or GetYourGuide makes sense if you'd like someone to make sense of Seville's painting for you. While Room 5 stays closed, check which rooms the tour covers.
