How the free Monday session works
It's a strict system. Every Monday at 12:00, the official website releases free tickets for the following Monday's 10:00 session. There's a limit of two per person, and they're only on the website: not by phone, email or at the ticket office. If the Monday of the visit is a public holiday, there's no session.
Set an alarm and log on a little early. If you miss out, paid tickets from Monday to Friday are €2 cheaper than at weekends.
What your ticket covers
Until 31 January 2027 your ticket includes the exhibition Cayetana: Grande de España. The audio guide is included too, but you download it to your phone with a QR code, so arrive with battery and headphones.
The palace's guided tour is in Spanish, runs at set times and costs €38. It's the best option if you don't know the history of the Alba family. On a reseller's tour, check the language before you pay.
Check your date carefully, because there are no changes or refunds. Backpacks aren't allowed in the rooms: bag storage is free, but it doesn't take travel suitcases.
If you have mobility problems, note that the temporary exhibition isn't adapted and involves climbing stairs. A palace-only visit is adapted, although while the exhibition runs, online sales are tied to it.
The shop also requires a ticket: you can't go in just to buy something.
