Free for everyone on Thursdays from 17:00 to 19:00 (except public holidays), every Sunday, 18 April, 12 October and 6 December. With proof, free at any time for under-18s, Carné Joven youth card holders, students up to age 25, people with disabilities and a companion, unemployed people, pensioners and over-65s.

No advance sales: buy your ticket at the museum. Groups of 8 or more get a reduced rate if they apply 15 days ahead.

Opening hours

Tuesday to Saturday, 9:30 to 15:00. Thursday evenings (except public holidays), 17:00 to 20:00. Sundays and public holidays, 10:00 to 15:00. Entry ends one hour before closing.

Every Monday, including public holidays; 1 and 6 January, 1 May and 24, 25 and 31 December.

Time your arrival

Entry ends an hour before closing. In the morning you can't get in after 14:00, and that goes for Sundays too. On Thursday evenings, last entry is at 19:00, just as the free slot ends.

It closes on Mondays even when they're public holidays.

Seeing more state museums

The 4-museum pass costs €8 and lasts 10 days. Four single tickets at €3 come to €12, so it pays off if you won't catch their free hours. The Museum of Romanticism and the Museum of the Americas are both included.
